Bo Levi Mitchell to be placed on the Stampeders six-game injured list: report

Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell is going to be placed on the six-game injured list, according to Rod Pedersen.

Mitchell underwent an MRI Tuesday to determine the extent of an upper body setback suffered against B.C. on Saturday night. He left the game against the Lions late in the fourth quarter favouring his right arm, chest and shoulder area.

However, putting Mitchell on the six-game injured list doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll miss six games.

The Stampeders franchise quarterback wanted a second opinion on his pectoral muscle upon hearing the first opinion, so he elected to seek that assessment from Neal ElAttrache who works primarily out of Los Angeles. ElAttrache performed Tom Brady’s ACL surgery in 2008 and multiple operations on five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant.

Mitchell played the majority of the 2017 season with tears in his throwing shoulder and elbow issues. That year he managed to throw for 4,700 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while leading Calgary to the best record in the CFL at 13-4-1 despite the ailments.

The two-time Grey Cup champion and reigning CFL Most Outstanding Player may or may not be out for a little while.
