Franklin completed 20-of-28 passes for 224 yards with two picks and a touchdown in the Week 3 loss to the Riders. During the fourth quarter, Franklin hobbled to the sidelines with five minutes remaining favouring his right leg after being sacked.
Franklin finished last season with a 2-6 win-loss record, throwing for 2,034 yards, eight touchdowns against nine interceptions while rushing 78 times for 365 yards and 14 touchdowns. He’s off to an 0-2 start in 2019 as the No. 1 pivot.
McLeod Bethel-Thompson came into the game in Regina and hit on 3-of-6 passes for 50 yards against Saskatchewan. He could get his first start of the season at home versus B.C.
Bethel-Thompson takes over as the starter. He went 2-6 eight starts last season completing 65 per cent of his passes for 2,007 yards with nine touchdowns and nine interceptions during those outings.
