Rider Nation is fighting for change after Monday night’s victory over the Toronto Argonauts.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders premiered a new design for Gainer, the team’s popular mascot, at their home opener.
The feedback was poor (and hilarious) with Gainer drawing comparisons to a chipmunk that is addicted to crystal meth.
Maria Vicente has started an online petition to bring back Gainer’s old design, a costume that is more child-friendly and decidedly less drug-addled.
The petition was started late Monday night and currently has 1,318 signatures, making it close to reaching its goal of 1,500.
