Saskatchewan quarterback Cody Fajardo threw a perfect ball down the seam to Moore who beat two Argos defenders – Qudarius Ford and Alden Darby ran into each other trying to catch up – and took it 98 yards to the end zone for a touchdown.
“So we knew we had the wind to our back and our thought process, there was 16 seconds left so we wanted to get a completion down the field and then possibly another completion and just get us in field goal range,” Fajardo said.
“They tried to press up on Swerve and he can make anyone miss, I just saw him make him miss at the line of scrimmage. If Swerve doesn’t beat him at the line that throw doesn’t exist.”
It was the longest Riders completion since 2002 when Nealon Green connected with Derick Armstrong for a 100-yard major when Saskatchewan beat Calgary 32-21 on Friday, July 5.
