Antonio Pipkin leaves game; Vernon Adams Jr. leads two touchdown drives for Alouettes

Antonio Pipkin has left Montreal’s season-opener in Edmonton with a right leg injury.

Pipkin completed 7-of-17 pass attempts for 57 yards in almost three quarters of work. Facing pressure on many of his snaps, Pipkin also chipped in five carries for 45 yards. The 23-year-old generated a major score in the first quarter, throwing a 20-yard touchdown to prized free agent addition DeVier Posey.

Vernon Adams Jr. engineered two quick scoring drive in replacement of the injured Pipkin, completing all five of his pass attempts for 85 yards and a touchdown.
