Bombers release quarterback Bryan Bennett

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have made a surprising cut ahead of Saturday’s 9:00 PM CT deadline, releasing quarterback Bryan Bennett.

Bennett was arguably the Bombers’ best quarterback in the preseason, completing 13-of-22 pass attempts for 242 yards and two touchdowns.

Matt Nichols, Chris Streveler, and newcomer Sean McGuire set to start the season as Winnipeg’s three quarterbacks.

Bennett runs well, can throw the deep ball, and is said to be a hard worker. He could help a lot of teams at the quarterback position.
