Veteran CFL referee Dave Hawkshaw hired by the NFL

Longtime CFL referee Dave Hawkshaw has made the move south of the border.

Hawkshaw was part of the interleauge development program which began in 2016 and aimed to improve officiating in both leagues through additional training and on-field experience through mini camps, training camps and pre-season games. After rating highly, Hawkshaw earned the opportunity.

The Kamloops, B.C. native has spent 14 seasons in the CFL officiating 189 games, including three Grey Cups.
