It appears Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden was a little out of the loop when it comes to playing a pre-season game north of the border.
Gruden was asked about it today after the news, though widely reported in Canada, started gaining traction south of the border.
Jon Gruden, on potential of #Raiders playing a 'home' preseason game in Regina, Saskatchewan this summer: "It will be a great experience. Never really been there. News to me (hahaha). Canada!"

Of course, the Americans are still a little behind the times: Word that the match up won’t be in Regina hasn’t travelled down south yet. But the Raiders playing the Green Bay Packers during Week 3 of the NFL exhibition schedule in Canada certainly seems within the realm of possibility, even if the Riders are out: the Blue Bombers are exploring bringing the Raiders to Investor’s Group Field.
An American coach with a fat contract running amok in Canadian city: wonder where we’ve heard that one before?
