Former Stampeders playmaker Roy Finch arrested, charged with kidnapping and domestic abuse

Former Calgary Stampeders running back and return man Roy Finch has been charged again according to NewsOK.com:

Finch was arrested again, though, this month after a girlfriend accused him of punching her two to three times and refusing to let her leave his Oklahoma City motel room for 20 to 30 minutes Jan. 2.

He was charged Jan. 29 in Oklahoma County District Court with kidnapping and domestic abuse. He denies the new accusations.

Finch was accused of assaulting Oklahoma police officers last spring. That came after Finch signed a two-year extension with Calgary last February.

The 27-year-old had a stellar season in 2017, leading the CFL in punt return yards (1,200) and yards per return (16.4 among players with a minimum of five tries) and his 103-yard effort for a touchdown in Week 7 against Toronto was the longest punt return so far this season. Those totals earned Finch the Most Outstanding Special Teams Player award. He’s a dynamic weapon on offence, producing 114 rush yards on 21 carries and recording 18 receptions for 133 yards, including 79 yards after the catch.

After the arrest last April, the Stampeders placed Finch on the retirement list.
