Jovon Johnson has ended one career and begun another.
The 12-year CFL veteran has taken a coaching job at Defiance College in Ohio.
Johnson played 188 total CFL games for four different teams (Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal) and was a very productive player making 564 tackles, 35 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles, scored eight touchdowns and notched eight sacks. The 35-year-old spent the first and last season of his career in Saskatchewan. He was a five-time East All-Star, two-time CFL All-Star, named the 2011 CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player and earned a Grey Cup ring in 2007.
Perhaps Johnson will return to the league as a coach in the future.
