The 28-year-old Davis signed with the Stampeders at the start of training camp in 2016 after spending time in the NFL with the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Redskins. He played in seven games making five tackles.

Prior to turning pro, Davis played four seasons at Southern Methodist University where June Jones was the head coach for his entire carer. That has led Davis to reconnect with Jones in Hamilton.
