B.C. Lions re-sign all-star receiver Bryan Burnham: sources

The B.C. Lions have re-signed international receiver Bryan Burnham, per sources.

The two-year deal is reportedly in the $200,000 range for 2019, a bump from the approximately $185,000 he made last season. It puts him in the top-tier on the receiver pay scale with the likes of Derel Walker ($225,000 in 2018) and Greg Ellingson ($215,000.)

The 28-year-old Burnham is coming off his third straight 1,000-yard season in 2018 after registering 67 catches for 1,029 yards and career-high nine touchdowns. He has spent his entire five-year career with the Lions while earning CFL all-star nods in 2017 and 2018.

Burnham was set to become a free agent on Tuesday and re-signing him gives general manager Ed Hervey a solid foundation to build on as he tries to convince quarterback Mike Reilly to come to the West Coast. But the team still has a number of high-profile pass catchers set to hit the open market, including Emmanuel Arceneaux, DeVier Posey and Canadian Shaq Johnson.
