CFL extends 2.0 global vision into France

The CFL has added the French American Football Federation to its list of agreements with countries around the world for the 2.0 global vision.

The Liga de Futbol Americano in Mexico and German Football League in Germany are already on the list.

“We have had a strong link with Canada for the past 15 years,” said Tristan Genet, Chief Financial Officer of the French American Football Federation.

The French American Football Federation has 23,000 members, 15,000 football players and 12 teams playing in the first-division league. A select group of players from France will attend the CFL’s national scouting combine in Toronto in late March. While the two sides work to seek a broadcast and streaming deal that would see CFL and first division French league games available in France.

Ambrosie plans to hold meeting in Europe with football leaders from Austria, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. That will continue Ambrosie’s vision for growing the CFL globally and striving to double league revenues as he stressed at the 2018 Grey Cup in Edmonton.
