Notes: Won the Lions’ starting centre job in 2016 after four seasons as a depth player. Coming off a broken leg.

2. Mike Filer, HAM
Age: 28
Starts in 2018: 17
Notes: Has spent the past seven seasons with the Ticats predominantly at centre.

3. Jon Gott, OTT
Age: 33
Starts in 2018: 12
Notes: Ten-year veteran who can still fill in at centre or guard. Age is a concern.

4. Justin Sorensen, EDM
Age: 32
Starts in 2018: 13
Notes: Reverted to a back-up role in 2018, Sorensen’s mileage is a concern.

5. Josiah St. John, SSK
Age: 26
Starts in 2018: 2
Notes: Hasn’t had a huge impact since being drafted first overall in 2016, but held his own late last season following an injury to Dariusz Bladek.
