Even though there is a new regime in Saskatchewan Duron Carter won’t be back with the Roughriders.
General manager Jeremy O’Day, according to Carter, wanted to kicked him and others off the team prior to the Riders Week 18 matchup with the Calgary Stampeders in 2017.
Naw I'm goood… ask JO how they kick me, Bakari, and @6BONECRUSHER3 off the team 4 days before Calgary game… "just don't want the distraction" the words he used… I started my first game at corner, got a pick, and here we are https://t.co/RLuod3J0LO

Carter made two tackles and intercepted Bo Levi Mitchell returning the turnover for a touchdown in his first game starting as a defensive back in the CFL.
During the 2017 season, Carter led the Riders in 2017 with 1,043 receiving yards and nine touchdowns (including one on defence) during the regular season, earning him the Riders Most Outstanding Player award. He re-signed for the 2018 season in January. Carter was due to make $144,000 in hard money throughout the 2018 CFL season.
If I was such a distraction.. you would think with all that focus and lack of distractions they would be able to muster up 100 yards in a playoff games 🤷🏾♂️😂 https://t.co/RLuod3J0LO

The Riders went on to win 12 games but lost the West semifinal to Winnipeg, largely due to a lacklustre offensive performance.
Carter finished the season with the Toronto Argonauts playing eight games catching 10 passes for 119 yards and one touchdown. The 27-year-old is a pending free agent.
I heard thru the grapevine I was supposed too… but people like to keep me all to themselves https://t.co/oyxHtV76Rt

Carter playing for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats would be another heel turn.
