The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are expected to name Mark Washington defensive coordinator, per sources.
The former CFL defensive back was the B.C. Lions defensive coordinator from 2014-2018 until DeVone Claybrooks was named head coach changing the staff and Rich Stubler took over the role on the west coast.
Washington has spent 11 seasons as a coach – all with B.C. – in the CFL since ending his 11-year playing career after the 2007 season. He won two Grey Cups as a player, one each with the Montreal Alouettes and Lions.

Like Washington, new Hamilton head coach Orlondo Steinauer is a former defensive back with two Grey Cup rings as a player to match. Both men are 45 years old and jumped to coaching shortly after retiring from playing football.
