Spencer had his first 1,000-yard receiving season last year and earned a CFL all-star nod for the first time in his career. The 26-year-old recorded 2,691 total yards last season and eight touchdowns.
Spencer went unselected in the 2014 NFL draft, attended Chicago Bears rookie mini-camp and briefly signed by the St. Louis Rams, but sat on the sidelines the rest of that season.
Look for Spencer to get a shot to stick with Pittsburgh as both a return man and deep threat receiver.
