The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive back Loucheiz Purifoy to a one-year extension, keeping him with the team through 2019.
Saskatchewan acquired Purifoy in a trade with the Ottawa Redblacks in August and he played 10 games with the Riders, collecting 56 tackles and four picks in 17 games with both clubs
In three CFL seasons, the 28-year-old Purifoy has registered 148 defensive tackles, 12 special-teams tackles, eight interceptions and five quarterback sacks in 53 regular-season games.

He was eligible to become a free agent in February.
