Offensive lineman Joel Figueroa is staying on the west coast.
The B.C. Lions have signed Figueroa to a two-year contract extension through the 2020 season.
The six-foot-six, 320-pounder started all 18 games at left tackle for the Lions in 2018 after coming over from the Edmonton Eskimos in free agency.

The 29-year-old has played in 62 career CFL regular-season games with Hamilton (2013-15), Edmonton (2016-17) and B.C.
“We are a quarterback-driven league and protecting that asset is of critical importance to our success,” general manager Ed Hervey said in a statement. “Signing Joel was a top priority for us and securing his consistent and dominant style of play at the left tackle position for the next two seasons cannot be understated.”
