Riders sign former No. 1 pick, Canadian OL Simeon Rottier

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Canadian offensive lineman Simeon Rottier.

The 34-year-old had retired prior to the 2018 season with 124 career CFL games played over nine seasons.

Rottier chosen first overall in the 2009 CFL Draft by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats where he played three seasons. The University of Alberta product signed with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2012. He was a CFL all-star in 2014 and won a Grey Cup with the Eskimos in 2015.
