Ticats Brandon Banks suffers suspected fractured collarbone, likely done for the year

Hamilton Tiger-Cats receiver Brandon Banks has suffered a suspected fractured collarbone and is expected to miss the rest of the 2018 season, per sources.

Banks was hurt in the second half of Hamilton’s 35-31 loss to the Redblacks on Friday night, landing awkwardly while trying to make a catch a pass from Jeremiah Masoli.

Banks came into the game second in the league in receiver with 1,290 yards. The Ticats have already lost receivers Jalen Saunders and Chris Williams to season-ending injuries and are without Terrence Toliver. The team recently signed Terrell Sinkfield who was inactive against the Redblacks but could play next week in the rematch against Ottawa in Hamilton.

The Ticats will need to win that game and their season finale against Montreal to have any hope of winning the East Division. Ottawa would also have to lose to Montreal in Week 21.

But without Banks, Hamilton’s Grey Cup aspirations have just taken a huge hit.
