The Edmonton Eskimos have signed five-time CFL all-star, defensive tackle Almondo Sewell to a two-year contract extension through the 2020 season.
“He’s a great player and an even better person who embodies every good trait we want in our organization, both on and off the field,” Eskimos general manager Brock Sunderland said in a statement.
Sewell has played all eight of his CFL season in Edmonton, notching 241 tackles, 51 sacks and one forced fumble. The 31-year-old has been a disruptive force on the interior of the defensive line for his entire career.
