Weston Dressler gets tangled up, leaves Bombers practice

Winnipeg Blue Bombers receiver Weston Dressler was forced from the IGF turf on Wednesday.

Dressler is coming off his best game of the season with five catches for 61 yards, two going for touchdowns in Winnipeg’s Week 17 victory in Ottawa.

The 33-year-old suffered a lower-body injury in the Bombers Week 9 win against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, which kept him out four games.

The veteran pass catcher is in his 11th CFL season (third with Winnipeg). He’s caught 39 passes for 431 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games. Last season he recorded 51 receptions for 651 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games.

Prior to joining the Bombers, Dressler spent eight seasons with Saskatchewan, recording 7,797 yards on 539 receptions with 50 touchdowns.

Winnipeg hosts Saskatchewan on Saturday afternoon.
