Riders officially sign former Redblacks, Lions DB Loucheiz Purifoy

Defensive back Loucheiz Purifoy is headed to Saskatchewan.

He was released by the Ottawa Redblacks on Monday.

Purifoy signed with the Redblacks as a free agent in February. He made 29 tackles, one interception and forced one fumble in seven games with the Redblacks.

The 25-year-old played two seasons with the B.C. Lions where he recorded 92 defensive tackles, five sacks, forced four fumbles and recorded four interceptions while playing 36 games in 2016 and 2017.

Purifoy is a versatile piece on the backend.
