The former Canadian rugby sensation, Zaruba signed a reserve/futures deal with the Eagles in January but has been released waived part way through training camp. The 24-year-old, six-foot-five and 265-pounder was playing tight end.
Zaruba worked out for Philadelphia in July 2017 and attended training camp in Philly. He was released among final cuts and his CFL rights are owned by Saskatchewan after the Riders added him to the neg list.
Zaruba played football in high school and was recruited by SFU but never took the field before turning his attention to rugby.
