Alouettes receiver Chris Williams suffers injury against Redblacks

Montreal Alouettes receiver Chris Williams left the game against the Ottawa Redblacks with a bit of a limp.

He caught a crossing pattern and turned it up the sideline for 33 yards and appeared to pull up lame in the first quarter. Wiliams leads the team in receptions (15) and yards (283) after torching Duron Carter for 130 yards and a touchdown in Week 3.

The Alouettes acquired Williams last off-season in exchange for defensive end Gabriel Knapton. Williams battled injury in 2017, limited to just nine games producing 415 yards on 38 receptions with one touchdown. Williams has over 1,000 yards in four of his five CFL seasons.

Montreal loses a vertical stretch receiver capable of changing the game in an instant.
