The Argos re-signed Woods to a one-year contract in February. The 30-year-old started 17 games for the Argos and led the team with 91 tackles in 2017, adding four tackles for a loss, two sacks, and five quarterback pressures. He was a key part of the Argos Grey Cup championship team.
In seven CFL seasons, Woods has twice been selected as a CFL All-Star and was named the East Division’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2014 and 2016.
