No. 1 CFL draft pick, receiver Mark Chapman not offered contract from New York Giants

Canadian receiver Mark Chapman was not offered a contract by the New York Giants after attending the team’s rookie mini-camp last weekend.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats selected Chapman after trading up for the first overall choice in the 2018 CFL draft. By all accounts, Chapman showed well in NYC.

Chapman led Central Michigan University with 59 receptions and 875 yards while reaching the end zone five times in 13 games during his senior season in 2017. He made 147 receptions for 2,035 yards and 10 touchdowns over four years with the Chippewa’s.

Look for Chapman and the Ticats to try and get a deal done in time for training camp which opens on Sunday, May 20.
