Johnny Manziel hospitalized after reaction to medication

According to website TMZ, quarterback Johnny Manziel has been hospitalized after what his representatives are saying was a reaction to prescription medication.

Mamziel was reportedly hospitalized Monday night but has since been released.

“It seems like he had a reaction to an adjustment in his prescription,” Manziel’s representative Denise Michaels told TMZ.  “He’s fine and headed home.”

Manziel acknowledged in February that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was taking medication as a result, though TMZ says “unclear if the medication that landed him in the hospital is connected to that diagnosis.”

Manziel is on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats negotiation list but is reportedly debating between coming to the CFL – which would require a two-year commitment unless the league says otherwise – holding out for an increasingly unlikely NFL opportunity or waiting for the fledgeling Alliance of American Football to begin play (if it gets off the ground) in February of 2019.

UPDATE: Manziel took to Instagram to provide an explanation…
