Duron Carter criticizes TSN top 50 CFL players list

Duron Carter feels he was criminally undervalued by TSN’s list of  Top 50 CFL players last year.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders receiver took to Twitter Monday morning to make his written argument for a place among the league’s elite.

Can’t wait for this CFL TOP 50 mumbo-jumbo😂😂😂 I better be in the top 10!!! Let’s start by not putting Wr’s in that can’t get open!

Carter checked in at 35 on the annual TSN list of the top 50 CFL players around the league with eight receivers ranked ahead of the star pass catcher.

Carter was 10th in receiving yards (1,043) last season while earning CFL all-star honours. Adarius Bowman (3), DaVaris Daniels (20), Ernest Jackson (23), Chris Williams (30) and Namaan Roosevelt (32) all had fewer yards than Carter but a higher ranking on the TSN list.

Of course the two receivers who had the most prolific seasons last year weren’t even ranked coming into the campaign: Brandon Zylstra (1,687 yards) and S.J. Green (1,462 yards).

Six defensive backs were included among the top 50: Maurice Leggett (16), Jamar Wall (21), T.J. Heath (33), Tommie Campbell (39), Taylor Loffler (40) and Emanuel Davis (41). Pertinent because Riders head coach Chris Jones has said Carter would be the best cover man in the league if he played defence full-time.

Given his production on both sides of the ball, Carter has a strong case for a higher ranking this season. The show will be broadcast on TSN June 12.
