Video: Drake asks Raptors to sign his Humboldt Broncos jersey

Plans are being finalized for the autographed Humboldt Broncos jersey that Drake wore at Game 1 of the Raptors playoff game over the weekend.

The Raptors released a video Sunday showing Drake asking for the players’ attention in the dressing room following the team’s 114-106 win over the Washington Wizards at the Air Canada Centre.

Drake, the team’s Global Ambassador, had worn the Broncos jersey while sitting at his courtside seat beside the Raptors bench. The Broncos were on their way to a playoff game when a semi collided with the team bus earlier this month near Tisdale, Sask., killing 16 people.

“You guys know the story,” Drake tells the players before he put the jersey down for them to sign it.

Dave Haggith, senior director of communications at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, said by email Monday that plans were being finalized for the jersey.
