Jones started 13 games for New York in 2017, one at left guard and 12 at centre. Pro Football Focus ranked him as the No. 18 centre out of 79 graded last season.
He originally signed with the Giants in 2015 for three years and $1,575,000 total after winning the Most Outstanding Rookie and Most Outstanding Lineman awards in successive CFL campaigns (2013 and 2014) with the Calgary Stampeders.
Jones spent 2015 on New York’s injured reserve, then backed up at centre and guard with one start in 2016. The University of Regina and Weyburn Comprehensive high school product has earned a lot of respect among the Giants brass.
