The problem with Shaw was the ACL injury, no guarantee that he can fully recover, that’s a gamble for any team.
McDuffie couldn’t unseat Dionte Spencer as KR, a big disappointment.
Stangby could be a good catch for another team

You could be right, they have signed SEVEN rookie WRs including a TE from Temple 6’4″ listed at 245 lbs.
Release 3 receivers who have been around for a couple of years replace with rookies on the minimum salary.

With the most free agents of anyone this year Sunderland was asked about the difficulty of signing them. His response - Maas is a big selling point. He expected most of the guys he wanted to be back.

Brock Sunderland, being an ex-Redblack executive, has picked up numerous ex-Redblacks since becoming G.M. In Edmonton: Forrest Hightower, Brandyn Thompson, Colin Kelly, Juron Criner, Jake Ceresna, Pascal Lochard, Mike Moore, Kalonji Kashama, Nick Taylor, Danny O’Brien and of course, Jason Maas. Whew!
It’s an easy bet that at least one of the three players released will be plying their trade at Commonwealth stadium this summer.

The Eskimos seem to have been searching for a great kick returner since Henry “Gizmo” Williams retired. So, Quincy Mcduffie, welcome to Edmonton!
The Eskimos clearly don’t mind picking up Ottawa’s sloppy seconds.
