And another thing ...

First a quick note. I've stopped even reading the troll's posts, so I don't know what he said and I won't be responding to him.

And another thing, in certain areas we're getting to the point where we've developed so much good young talent that we can let some of it just walk away, see: Mrabure, Leonard, Demski and Van Gylswyk. This was Taman's great downfall imo, at least as it related to Canadians - ok, maybe second great downfall after the outrageous contracts given to certain players - but it was only a downfall because he wasn't able to replace these players in other ways and our overall NI talent level began to drop. The regime, otoh, IS able to replace players and acquire talent in many ways, including Canadian talent, see: Evans, Messam, Harty, Bladek, Mrabure, Zver, Dyakowski, etc. etc. This regime is probably better at acquiring talent than any other regime we've ever had, EVER! During the season I found myself almost instinctively wondering if we were going to trade Demski and Van Gylswyk, because we were almost sure to lose them in the off season and if we traded them then at least we'd get something for them, but I now see that was was old regime thinking. If the right trade came up I'm sure we would have done it, but given that we are now so much better at acquiring talent, their value to us as depth at the time was greater than their trade value to us. If we traded Van Gylswyk in the middle of the season and then Crapigna had gotten injured we would have been screwed, for example. And the mid round pick we might have gotten for him would have been a very long shot to become a star, and we can find depth players many other ways, so Van Gylswyk's depth value became more than his trade value. The Jones regime has completely changed this equation for us because of his ability to acquire talent in many different ways. Jones = sustainability. As long as we have Jones we're going to have some of the best talent and overall talent in the league. What we need now is the finishing touchs, the last elements that will make us a championship team. Hughes is obviously part of that, but the biggest issue this year is still at QB, albeit at the next level up. We now have two guys who are capable of being a very good #1, imo, but this year we need to go from capable to established and knocking on the door as one of the top one or two contenders.

The Human Flame was the biggest public safety concern in rider game history. Until the avalanche scare of 2017.

Saskatchewan needs to bring back that human flame guy who shot flames out of his helmet. That was cool! If his nickname wasn’t “Flamo”, it should’ve been!
Mind you, I admittedly wouldn’t be as crazy about his return if I was sitting in a seat in his vicinity during the games.

This will be my one and only post, I will keep following. I'm not sure why, "Wingnut", feels that anything he states about the Riders is relevant. I've had season tickets since 1979, in other words I've seen all kinds of football debacles, successes and other worldly things. This does not change my loyalty, in fact, being a Rider fan is a community. If being a fan is only about wins and losses, I do like wins, then the reason to go to games is tenuous at best. As a present and forever Rider fan, I love our new facility and the direction the team is going. Chirping between fans of opposing teams, as long it's in good taste, is fun. The constant vitriol, from one "So called" stamps fan towards my team, I find laughable. As a long time fan of the CFL, all teams have had there hard times, in fact the league has. Maybe before you make comments, as my Mother would, look in your own backyard first. The pride the people of Saskatchewan feel for their team is, crazy, awesome and heartfelt, that's what this is all about. Sorry wingnut, your incites into my team are irrelevant. As I've said this is my first and last post. Go Riders.

Alberta domination is back. Best teams, best 2 QB's in the league. Too bad our hockey teams can't get their acts together
