Well said Kyle. CFL family is just jealous because Chick had done well for himself with a stellar career and he just wants to put down the Riders at every opportunity. Probably because his stumps team never had that many team players like Chick, just players who throw team mates under the bus. Will put a negative spin on everything and thinks his stumps are the best ever. This loser needs to get a life, move out of the basement and maybe get a job at 7-11. At least the he might be a productive member of society.

In reply to CFL family. Not arrogance. Appreciation, as a Rider fan, that not all article are turned Into rider articles. Articles on riders are by far the most commented on and they turn into stupid arguments (which I’ve regularly partaken in and am ashamed by it) with posters like yourself, horse etc. Just one example, there was an article about a player retiring due to concussion recently. Article was titled “former rider” but read that he played for 3 teams over 6-7 years, 2 with the Riders. 3down knows it: add the word rider and you come out to troll your hateful eastern ignorance.

No, I think they are pointing out that Chick played for the Riders and the Riders are considered “Canada’s team” – the highest TV ratings are always when the Riders play, the highest attendance, the highest attendance when they play on the road. Top selling merchandise, the most googled CFL team on the internet.

Chick is a great example of a person dealing with a diabetic disease and overcoming it to STILL be a great athletic. Thankful for the example he gave in the CFL to the the players on how to be a great example on and off the field in many ways. Glad he had the chance to play in both the CFL and NFL and winning 2 Grey Cups in the process. A real Champ in every way.

The thing that set John Chick apart was not only that he was an award winning defensive end but his strength of character and class both on and off the field. He is highly respected for his play but also because he is a good man. He is an inspiration to young diabetic athletes and to anyone who values class and dedication and principles.
