He just said current ticats QBs on a (6-12) team with no success. so he could have meant any one of Evans, ND guy, Masoli, Or Collaros. Manziel just said fair which is open to interpretation. My personal definition of fair is James Franklin who sat on bench for 2 years and got 250 k. Meanwhile Manziels most recent year of 2015 he had 6 starts and 2 wins. Set Brown's record for single game rushing by qb. Franklin? 3 completions I believe. Someone check me.

Manziel would have accepted 250k. While we don’t know the exact numbers, I think reasonable figures are Hamilton is offering about $175k maximum and Manziel’s agent wanting a rough minimum of $225k.

Whatever the gap is, the bottom line is Austin and the agent are still talking. Think about it. If the sides were $250-300k apart, they wouldn’t be wasting time with each other as the difference would be too great to overcome with just casual conversation.

To be determined is whether both sides will compromise at roughly $200k. For that to even be considered, we must first wait to see how the Spring League and NFL interest plays out.

Doug Flutie was the highest paid QB in CFL history to date. I don’t know what Murray Pezim paid Flutie for his one season in BC. Larry Rykmann owner of the Stamps paid Flutie for four years on a Personal Services Contract, one million dollars per season. With the salary cap compensation like that will never happen again in our league. Flutie was worth every penny he made just on excitement alone.

Jim thank you. I think Austin knew where this was going. The concern was the. NFL window which ma be changed. The cats know that his bipolar situation is under control and that he has gone now 1.25 years rehabilitated. They do wish him well and here is hoping this young man can get that opportunity and when he does start it will be one of the biggest story in sports. So let’s wish him well.

250K is the last I heard on the TiCats offer. If true that is most likely TOP DOLLAR for a guy who never played in the CFL. A few QBs who played in the CFL then got a shot at the NFL but came back to the CFL probably got more but they had a track record of success in the CFL. Ricky Ray, Henry Burris and Dave Dickenson come to mind. Exception being Doug Flutie who had some success in the NFL before coming north probably got TOP DOLLAR for doing so.

In reply to wewert3. You read as well as you write. Manziels agent ask for him to be paid the equivalent of Zachs contract not Masoli's. So $500k plus. What they offered him was fair for a guy trying to restart his carreer and for a guy out of football for 3 years with abuse and addiction issues.
