In reply to RIP Joe. Again this was road rage, Ronald Gasser had a relatively clean criminal past. Criminal nut jobs will probably have a gun likewise here in Canada, with Gasser not being a criminal nut job = Joe in in a fight not a defenseless shooting, just aggravated assault. With 325 million people in USA, 2/3 are adults, with only 1 gun per adult that still 210 million guns. Assume criminal nut jobs maybe 10% of population that's 21 million people/guns or 189 million less people/guns! Less guns = less shooting

I agree with you and disagree with you. I agree that Trudope and the liberals need to be ran out of office next election as the liberals have always been hardliners in favour of more gun control.

In regards to gun control in the US: “The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The right to bear arms is necessary to deter threats against the free state from both external and internal (ie the government)threats.

Canada’s gun laws in regards to acquisition and possession are already stringent and could be a model for the US, but as someone above posted, the criminals will always have access to firearms. Additional gun control only negatively affects law-abiding citizens – the criminals or wackos will find a way. Maybe it’s time to revisit capital punishment as there is absolutely no deterent to violent crime or murder now.

Area 51: I wish you’d get abducted by aliens at Area 51! Arm everybody to make everybody safe? What nonsense! If there weren’t so many guns already, people wouldn’t have to fear these endless slaughters in the crazy United States. The U.S. isn’t run by the Republicans or Democrats, they are run by the N.R.A. and the Pentagon and the C.I.A.
Having said that, Canada’s laws are WAY TOO SOFT, and aren’t likely to improve with “Jihad Justin” in the Prime Minister’s office. That goof needs to go!

In reply to Area51. Not laughable at all, Joe would probably still be alive with gun control. This was a road rage incident, with no gun in the car no shooting. Other than officer I don't know anyone who carriers a gun. I'm sure there is a small % who do. Just my opinion.

Justice is served, yes but Joe is still dead. For those against gun control would the accused have had the gun to kill with if it was disallowed? The argument that control would only allow criminals to have guns may be valid but it would also stop the sudden rage incidents where people kill because they have a gun and momentarily lose it. I don’t have any solutions and this is all just opinion but then again does anyone have a workable solution? Arming everyone I believe would allow some disagreements to escalate from words, fist to guns. Back to the wild west anyone?
