Paul, that has to be one of the silliest and most frustrating things IMO. The PA sticking up for and defending a player who reputedly made a dangerous hit. Isn’t fhe victim of the hit ALSO A MEMBER OF THE CFLPA?? They shouldn’t take sides in those situations.

In reply to Edward Leslie. Maybe not.... the TSN station here in Winnipeg is saying the Bombers have pretty much given up on Henoc Muamba, so I think that strongly suggests he'll be going to Montreal to play with his brother.

You know why the suspensions are such a joke in this league? Why it’s perfectly fine to hit, illegally, with intent to injure and get away with it? Who is putting player safety at the bottom of the list? IT’S THE STUPID CFLPA itself!!! They fight every suspension to the extreme… I think the league has finally said, “You know what… just go ahead and kill each other – we’re tired of trying to protect you from yourselves!”

He had a season ending injury and the Esks evaluated his injury and didn’t think he can play anymore.
There is no guarantee that he can fully recover.
If the Als think that he can play on one leg then yea it’s a “no brainer”

The ground could be part of the problem, it would be great to see all stadiums going back to “real” grass like BMO Field.
The NFL has 8 stadiums going back to grass.

Its a no brainer. Cory Greenwood played his university football at Concordia. Montreal has easily the thinnest Canadian talent depth. Montreal no longer has Bear Woods, Kyries Hebert or (likely) Chip Cox among their linebacking unit.
Ladies and gentlemen, the newest member of the Montreal Alouettes… Cory Greenwood!
Of course Kavis Reed is G.M., so a “no brainer” is a complicated decision for him.

Good questions, Doug. Randy Ambrosie shocked many by getting rid of contact practices last year. It was a good idea though because it’s ridiculous to continually lose players to practices. Cue Allen Iverson: “It’s PRACTICE Man!”
The CFL also added an extra week to the schedule to add more rest time.
Both were good ideas for sure, but more needs to be done.
For example, WHY does the CFL so rarely hand out suspensions to players for dirty hits??? So often we’ll see a terrible foul, of which everybody gets upset at… then the player will escape with only a fine! Hopefully 2018 will be the year that the free pass for dirty hits ends.

I wonder are their more injuries in football now than the past ? Has the sport got so tough that the bodies can’t take it anymore. Is the ground part of the problem ?

Fragile and injury prone, will be 33yrs old when the season starts – – this could be the end of the line for Greenwood.

Was never a dominant LB even when healthy.
