The New Orleans Saints have elected to let defensive back Delvin Breaux go free, according to Nick Underhill of The Advocate.
The Saints do not intend to offer Delvin Breaux a tender, I’m told. He’s likely to hit the market on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old was misdiagnosed with a leg contusion during training camp and then it was discovered that Breaux actually had a stress fracture on his fibula – team orthopedists Deryk Jones and Misty Suri were fired as a result – which required surgery and caused Breaux to miss the entire 2017 season.
Breaux had two stellar seasons in Hamilton, including an all-star campaign in 2014, that led to him signing with New Orleans in 2015. He played all 16 games in his first NFL season, bursting on the scene and establishing himself as one of the top cover men in the league. In 2016 he only played in six games as injuries cost him game time. Over 22 NFL games, Breaux has 66 tackles, 2o passes defended and three interceptions.
The NFL’s free agent period opens Wednesday at 4 p.m. eastern time.
