CFL fan, I couldn’t agree more with what you’ve said. And I absolutely appreciate the sound write up. I’m one of those that really gets fed up and rather tired with some of these jealous naysayers. Being one of those fans that actually witnessed the Ronnie/George years in the early ’70’s where we once were feared and despised across the league and formerly known as the Jolly Green Giants until age and retirements caught up to my team. Now, for nearly 30 years except for an exciting title in ’89 (as my name), we were the yearly doormats of football and received many a tiring joke from rival fans across the league (even to this day as you graciously mentioned). It’s nice, now, as a middle-aged person with a special lady-friend — that we make a game-day trek of 500 miles return as season-ticket holders — to witness a changing of the guard with the younger green-clad generation taking on such a special interest in the Roughriders. It’s something that I never expected to see in my day as a Rider fan, but I can state the proud feeling with the young generation at New Mosaic (and elsewhere) that, “Win or lose, Rider Nation will always be loud and proud.” And it’s great to hear your viewpoints as a fan of the CFL. Kudos to you, CFL Fan, for your thoughts on Rider Nation.
