Brovski: Just remember that Winnipeg is actually the only team he chose to leave ( to try the NFL). So… how can he be called a mercenary?
He was released by both Indianapolis and Dallas in the NFL, and by Montreal and Saskatchewan in tge CFL, so they could avoid paying contract bonuses.
Muamba finished second in tackles his last year in Winnipeg and had a big year in Regina last year. He’s a beast who plays as well as any defensive player from sideline to sideline. He hasn’t suffered any bad injuries AND he’s Canadian too. So of course he deserves to be paid top dollar. I think $200,000- 250,000 would be fair compensation.

Don’t know who else besides Montreal and Winnipeg that are expressing interest in Muamba…It makes the most sense that he signs on with a team that will at least make post season…Enjoy the steaks Henoc and see you in the Peg when the season starts

You have to be smart about who you pay, my friend.

Paying a mediocre receiver like Ernie Jackson nearly $200k is absolutely insane. Total waste of money.

Adarius Bowman is a decent receiver but giving him $260k last year was absurd. It was impossible for Edmonton to get any value from that deal.

Although I can understand why the Eskimo braintrust did it – – lots of cap room available after all the injuries, and it was pro rated for 2/3 of the season – – but it could have been spent much better elsewhere.

Easily the most overated player in the CFL. Seems every off season the same dog and pony show for his signature… yet can’t stick with one team…football is about $$$ to this guy, nothing else. Good luck to whoever signs him… he’s 1 and out!
