Riders sign ex NFL receivers Shaq Evans and Jacoby Ford

The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed recievers Shaq Evans and Jacoby Ford on Thursday.

The six-foot-one, 210 pound Evans joins the Riders after three seasons in the NFL.

The 26-year-old was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. He then spent time on the practice squads of the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys in 2015 and 2016.

Ford, standing at five-foot-nine and 185 pounds, signed with Saskatchewan last September and spent seven weeks on the Riders’ practice roster last year after signing with the team in September.

The 30-year-old has played 38 regular-season NFL games between 2013 and 2014.
