nope... they hired a head-hunter because they want a head-hunter
they're not going to change this slime-bucket's game... they don't want to! And I'd say that about any team that hires guys like this. (and everyone has had guys like this at one time or another... like good old Tom Canada who used to grab ankles and then start rolling - that's what happened to Kerry Joseph in Ottawa)

Yeah... was sort of hoping he would be blackballed by the GMs. I liked him when he first joined the Bombers, but then quickly realized the guy is scum, out to hurt people. (yes: out to hurt people) Was glad when he went to the NoFunLeague, but was very sorry to see him come back).

As an Alouettes fan, I appreciate everything Ky Hebert has done for the team, and the city. However, and perhaps this flies in the face of all the stats, awards and even common sense, MY sense was that like so many of the Alouettes last season, on both sides of the ball, that some of our older players were fading in the 2nd half of every game.

Now there could be, probably were, many extenuating factors. Like an offence that had the worst time of possession in the league. But that's kind of the point, isn't it?

There's a reason why football, and many other contact sports are considered a "young man's game". For all the furiosity and passion the Angry Bird has always brought to the field, there's no question that down after down, game after game, a 37 year old linebacker is going to fade, as the intensity of the game starts to heat up, and older sinews, muscles and bones attempt to do the same.

It is only an impression. But I feel that if we were talking about a 27 year old LB with Kyries' obvious talents, there would be no question of letting him go.

But at 37, and considering a need to go younger, across the lineup, and assuming Reed has the capacity to find ANY player, ANY talent whatsoever (that ought to be a safe bet...isn't) I'm comfortable letting him go. While wishing him all the luck in the world. As long as that luck doesn't come at the expense of whatever glimmer of hope for success to which Alouettes fans may be clinging.

Sounds right to me. Hebert was not signed by the Redblacks to be a backup with the #s he put up last year. Agree with the Joe Paopao comment. Would like to see him back in the league. A guy who just faded away after many years in the league.
