Dennis missed a lot of stopping the rush foe a QB that was a pocket passer. His style of play needed to improve. Now he is back in the barnyard called McMuck Stadium 4 and working out in the backwoods outhouse with inferior weight equipment.

Dennis was not playing well at left tackle long before Clark got hurt. He was moved to left guard because they tried Campbell there and he played very well at the blind side. If Clark had not been hurt, Dennis may have been benched. What is hard to understand is how he can be O lineman of the year one year, lose his position and be close to be being benched in the next year. If Collaros is to have a chance at returning to form, the O line has to be much improved over last year. Not a good sign that it is unclear yet who will play the blind side.

I must confess that I find it confusing when an offensive lineman talks about “the system”. As Offensive tackle, his job is simply not to let the guy across from him,at Defensive End, get by him and sack the quarterback. Not exacttly brain surgery.
Dennis’ problems were that Centre Dan Clark got injured, so Labatte moved over to take his spot and Dennis had to take his position. Playing an unfamiliar position can screw up a player’s mechanics.
Remember Scott Flory? He decided to leave Montreal and sign with his hometown Saskatchewan Roughriders, but when he heard that he was going to have to switch to Right Tackle, he got mad and asked to be released from the contract. They did and he went back to Montreal.

Dennis was O lineman of the year in Calgary in 2016. If he has an all star year at left tackle back in Calgary again , then you really have to wonder about the coaching with the Riders.

As a Lion fan I really laugh at the comments directed at Sask releasing Dennis. The man played poorly compared to his salary. He was outplayed and got moved and replaced. Simple. Sask can’t win with you commenters. If they kept him, Sask and Jones would have been ridiculed for playing him when he wasn’t performing at that price. They do the right thing and get crucified for releasing him. Sask needed to move on and improve. It’s a business, everyone gets rid of dead weight. Does he deserve to underachieve and be overpaid – no. I haven’t read any Sask fan dissing him either, so throw that argument out too. Just didn’t work out for both sides, enough said.
