The 32-year-old signed a two-year contract with Montreal after being on the market for the first day and a half of the free agent period.

Westerman left the Bombers where he got his CFL start in 2015 after spending five seasons in the NFL. In 47 games in Winnipeg, Westerman made 118 tackles, 32 sacks and four forced fumbles. He was a West Division all-star and West Division nominee for Most Outstanding Canadian in 2015.

Oui Westernman is already working on his french.
