I think the cap fallout comes from the Collaros signing and the Riders are paying a huge price ie; Demski, Mrabure, Campbell, Love, Morris, Steele, Dennis and now Muamba. Somehow signing expensive replacements Evans, and Messam and lesser lights Bond and Hurl seems faint return. I believe the team has taken a big step back by not valuing its Canadian talent. Yep. You don’t cut a 28 year old national, all-star, LB no matter how much he earns, for a 31 year old running back, and/or a 34 year old DE, regardless of nationality or talent. Muamba is a ratio buster like Messam USED to be. He’ll get snapped up quickly.

Not sure about the math. Where is the crap load of CAP space? If Jones said before Feb 13 kicked in he was “right at the CAP” & you look at the deletions & new bodies, I don’t see a lot of wiggle room.

So who’s fault is that? Not Muamba’s. Why should he take a cut? Did Jones take a cut because his 2 “star” signings in 2016, Lemon & Capiccotti, didn’t pan out in Regina? They did pretty well this year after leaving. Should he take a cut for signing Dennis to 200K? Jones is gambling that Collaros, 3 years removed from his last good campaign, 33 year old Hughes, 33 year old Messam & 34 year old Jovon Johnson still have a good year in them. There is no guarantee. In light of the RB’s the Riders already have in Richardson, Thigpen & Marshall, sacrificing Muamba to get Messam seems like a poor trade to me. I guess we’ll see.
