Would of liked to seen him resign with the Riders , but agree with the post regarding the $$ amount IMO he is NOT YET worth that amount . He has potential only time will tell if it was a right/good move for the bombers. Riders have a number of very good suitable replacements for him : Sanford, Ranford, Picton but most likely will be Bailey who is cheaper and has comparable age/better physical measurements and is a more pure WR.

In reply to Paul Bomber. So, 46 man rosters, plus practice roster players, plus players on the IR except players on the 6 game list. The salary for those 6 games on the list does not count against the cap.

If you don’t let him return kicks or punts, and just limit him to slotback duties, he’s a threat. A little overpriced and delicate though.

In reply to Paul Bomber. he wasnt a starter in sask, in fact Bailey was better than him. He has been injured every year so dont hold your hope he will last a full year in the Peg. Even if he did, he just doesnt have the real good hands and doesnt run good patterns like a Rob Bagg or a younger Fantuz. Not for that kind of money!! That is over the top money for a guy who has not proven anything.

So, 5 million cap, 42 man roster… average salary: 119,000
Premium for Canadians… especially if they can start.
Maybe it’s too much, time will tell, but I don’t see it being that ridiculous. (and yeah… I know… you pay your #1 & 2 QB 3 to 5 times that, but you also pay a lot of people, esp. rookies & non-star Americans the min, which I think is around 40-50k)

In reply to Paul Bomber. I agree. He frustrated me w the Riders but maybe his game just needed to mature like you say. Likely if he'd stayed healthy last year, I'd have alot more praise for him as it would have been a great year for him. This will likely be a great pickup for the Bombs looking back at the end of next year. Even tho everyone saw it coming!
