Alouettes linebacker Kyries Hebert has been told he has permission to speak with other CFL teams about a possible new deal or trade, according to TSN reporter Dave Naylor.
And it gets better: Montreal Gazette beat man Herb Zurkowsky reports the Alouettes did not pay Hebert when an off-season payment was due.
Hebert was due a signing bonus on Feb. 1. Don't believe he received it and has been in negotiations with Kavis Reed since then. https://t.co/SnuY9COJzN

The 37-year-old made a career-high 110 tackles, forced three fumbles, made two sacks and intercepted one pass in 18 games last year. He was named an East Division all-star in 2017 and has spent the past six seasons in Montreal.
Hebert has played in 162 career CFL games recording 582 tackles, 145 special teams tackles, 28 sacks, 18 forced fumbles, 12 interceptions and two defensive touchdowns.
Hearing that permission for @kyhebert to speak to other teams is to establish market value for him to stay with the @MTLAlouettes. Apparently no intent to trade or release at this time. #CFL #Als

Hebert doesn’t want to be shipped out of Montreal like a former star Canadiens defenceman.
I hope I don’t get PK Subbaned 😬

UPDATE:
Mea culpa. @kyhebert did receive his bonus on Feb. 1
