The biggest problem is that toiling on a practice roster in the NFL still pays $7600USD per week. Over 16 weeks, that’s over $120K USD, with lower taxes and fewer expenses.

Ok, so no. First of all David O. has never played in the CFL. Second, Bouka/ Rodgers/ Knox have never made an NFL team. Bouka and Knox have been training camp fodder and Bouka and IR listed, but they have never played an NFL game. This is the kind of thing we want to stop, because it’s not good for anyone. Freeman is the one guy who had a legitimate chance to make an NFL team, and he should have been given the opportunity, and he was, and he made the most of it. But as you’ve pointed out, he’s the one guy in recent memory who has stuck in the NFL.

On your other point. The differences in the games means that different kinds of players are better suited to each game. Iow, CFL players tend to be NFL tweeners at many positions, and visa versa.
