it seemed to me that philly played pretty close to perfectly and a couple of TD catches/calls went their way and i do applaud the aggressive play calling of the philly – offence

No kidding. Sometimes 3DN’s insecurity about the CFL is too much to take. The Bombers stole this particular variation from the Bears who stole it from Clemson. Other variations of this play have been around for years.

I remember seeing this special teams trick play when I was watching the StLoius Rams and Seattle Seahawks Oct 19 2014.
They pulled it off extremely well. I think only the Punter Ryan knew what was happening.

And I’m pretty sure that I saw somewhere that Foles ran the same play in high school! Indeed there is “nothing new under the sun” but it was a great play and a very good game to watch! Nice to see the Eagles win too!

How is this possible based on his previous claims the 3 down game is so different from the 4 down game? Truth is they are the same game with helmet, pads, forward pass, and limited kicking game. The style of play in either league will be based on personnel and strategy. So Eageles and Pats playing up tempo throw the ball all the time just like June Jones did while coaching Atlanta in the 90’s. Defenses adjusted and run and shoot went away but now back both teams in SB used elements of it. June used a more balanced attack last season in the NFL. The rules differences are minor and irrelevant. You can play uptempo in the NFL and NCAA. You can run the ball all the time in the CFL. The extra man is not a big deal. Rugby has 3 versions with 7, 13 and 15 players but it is all still Rugby and players jump between the versions. In the NCAA and NFL If you empty the back field, have an extra receiver, a linebacker drops back and voilà you have the same number of cover people as the CFl. Wheter a new player can come up to CFL and dominate in first contract depends on talent, position, Scheme they played in before and the scheme of the new CFL team. In the case of Manziel he played in a run and shoot rip off at A@M and if he goes to June Jones who invented the run and shoot he will fit rignt in. Same with Nick Foles who learned a rip off version of the run and shot under Chip Kelly. Nick would shine rignt away in a CFL team playing a version of the run and shoot.
